History

In the year 1977, T. Weber Shivers began building houses in Newhebron, Mississippi.   T. Weber’s second child, Luke, was born into the business in 1978.  At a very early age, Luke began to help his father on jobs.  It began as summer work and developed into an after-school, weekend job when Luke was just a teenager.  Luke was particularly interested in the electrical wiring part of the process.    When Luke graduated high school in 1996, he was determined to continue his learning in the electrical field.    In 1998, he continued his education  by attending electrician journeyman classes given by Hinds Community College.  He successfully finished the program and received his journeyman certification in 2003.  He did not stop there, and ended up receiving his Masters Electrician License in the City of Magee, Mississippi.   He now holds a master's license in several cities in and around the Jackson area, as well as in Hattiesburg and Gulfport.

After much deliberation,  Luke decided to start his own company in 2004, Shivers Construction Company, LLC.  The company’s goal was to specialize in electrical contracting and septic tank installation.   In 2005, Luke decided to drop any septic tank work and to specialize in electrical contracting, thus the company name was broadened to include electrical contractors.
